Living in Fortuna (III)

This week, a friend of mine has turned 70 and to celebrate, he threw a party with style.
I introduce you Peter Barlow some entries ago, on my "Living in Fortuna" serial. He is a lovely man who did not want to miss this great celebration even while recovering from a hip operation. Also thanks to his wife for their hospitality and the love she puts in welcoming and everything was perfect.

When a few months ago Peter asked me if I wanted to attend his birthday party, did not hesitate to answer that would be a great honor to share his happiness .. but it was my first "English" party!! What could I get?? What they tend to do in these cases? Well, that's why I decided not to overwhelm me. Although they were all English, I thought Peter appreciate us for who we were, and we were Spanish. Peter and Anne are a couple who travels a lot. They have the life they want, I can not think of anything to be able to give and that would match, until I thought of something made by myself, to accompany him on his travels or in their day to day. Something that used daily .. and to remember our friendship.

I searched, I searched .. and found this wonderful gentleman scarf called "Cerus Scarf"

The beauty of this pattern is that a simple point, dress the whole project.
Cerus is the male pattern of the Roman goddess Ceres, goddess of crops and agriculture. The cadence of the point on the right side, reminiscent of linen fabrics in which the grain wraps, even fabrics that formerly worn by the Romans. While that point is woven by the wrong face appears amazingly, beautiful grains of rice. One scarf, two ways to dress up.
Peter is an educated man. I found it very appropriate to know the mystery of that pattern. Overall, he lives in Fortuna, "Locus pro romanis populi".

The night was fantastic. ALL the friends were grate! jejejje I was not a stranger, I knowned all the attendees and they knowed to me. It was great to share with everyone a hearty meal, full of British specialties at The White House Restaurant, in Fortuna .... and enlivened by a great singer. You'd have to see his live!! Woooowwwww!! David Stanley just need a microphone and a speaker to sing in the style of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr and make you dream.

Carpe diem!!

And last but not least, we participate in a raffle for MABS to which I gave a pink Elise Shawl made the day before, including this time more than 200 clear and lilac glass beads. I think it was the third gift was chosen, and has gone to England to the neck of a beautiful Peter's granddaughter.
The evening, great. Friends, unbeatable. The place, spectacular. The singer, perfect!!. What more could you want? Carpe diem!
